Sometimes when you’re down in the dumps, or having some friends over for an evening of braindead pizza based fun, there’s nothing better than a fluffy comedy to stick on, so may I recommend The House Bunny?
The bizarre story of a playmate who is kicked out of the Playboy Mansion on her 27 birthday for being too old, The House Bunny is a thought-free technicolour romp through what I like to imagine American college life is actually like. There are the popular girls, the jocks, and a bunch of misfits living in a shady house that no-one visits. So far, so factual.
With make-over scenes, a party during which a virgin is sacrificed, and people learning valuable life lessons all round I like to think that this film gives Animal House a run for its money. Sure it’s never going to make any ‘Best Films Ever’ lists but it’s fun, funny, and dare I say it…. heart-warming. Oh and there’s loads of montages; perfect for refilling the snack bowls!
The bunny in question, Shelley, is a fan of anything pink and frilly, and believes the ‘eyes are the nipples of the face’, a line which I hope never to forget. As a fellow lover of pink I find a little hard to wear head to toe, and so went for something a little less gaudy, but staying in character with Shelley’s inimitable style.
All together it is a little WAG-ish, and very full on, but Shelley is proof that you don’t have to be change who you are to get the person you want even if he is the polar opposite of yourself…

I keep meaning to see this movie! Though my college experience was NOTHING like this, it looks cute and Anna Faris is so funny.
Thanks for the recommendation!
